This battle was intended as a semi-historical scenario: the defeat of the Galatai at the hands of Antiochos I, who gained his name "Soter" (saviour) after this victory. The Arverni were chosen to represent the Galatian army. To represent the superiority of the Seleucid army, I had 6000 mnai less to spend with respect to the whole budget, but the battle takes place in a wooded area where phalangitai are hindered.
Phillip's elite army is scary, but most of the bloodshed takes place in a tree-filled patch on top of a small hill. Elephants and chariots are a serious business to deal with, and the victory of the Galatians is much closer that what the victory screen implies.
